I purchased an external drive in 2010. It's a Seagate GoFlex 2 TB drive to be specific. I've never opened it before, but I just wanted to know if anyone has tried fitting it to an internal SATA interface before? Are there any power or compatibility issues? I'd really love to speed it up; since my machine is old and has no USB 3.0 ports, it'd make it alot faster. Any input would be nice! Thanks in advance!

@xshalludiex The hard drive inside your GoFlex 2 will have a standard SATA interface and power connectors (any drive over 500Mb has to be SATA). So if you remove the drive from inside the case you will be able to connect it to free internal SATA port and power connector. Or you could connect the drive toan e-SATA port with a lead that has an e-SATA connector on one end and an internal SATA connector on the other (plus power of course).

@explainingcomputers Fantastic! Thank you! I've been in a memory deficit in one area or another for years. Whether it was the fact that memory was too slow or not enough, it was always a pain in the neck. Also, I was reading your article on Quantum machines, and I found it very interesting. I, along with plenty of others i'm sure, would love to see a video on that! I've always had a big interest in theoretical areas of computing.

@xshalludiex I am working on a video called "Explaining Quantum Computing" at the moment! It will upload within a couple of weeks I think.

hi chris ¦)
I am curious to ask you:
Why is the static retaining screen one of your favorite part of the build?
And one other thing,
is there a chance there's a slight mistake in the video?
In the image of 2 HD sizes, it looks like the bigger one is 2.5", and the smaller one is 1.8"
(and not 3.5" and 2.5" as specified)
am I correct?

@zoharh Hello again! I **hate** fitting static screens because they are a swine to get in the right place (I make similar if more extensive comments on the subject in my "Building a Green PC" video). Here the screen got all bent, but you never see that! :-) The 2 HDs are a 3.5" and a 2.5". The 3.5" disk is the one I removed from the LaCie drive earlier in the video. The 2.5" is a good 10 years old, so maybe looks a bit like a 1.8" disk. But it isn't! :-) Thanks for your feedback as always.
