I surely don't match the caliber of this artist, but have a performance of this peace. Let me know what you think! Search: Anthony McCain sings opera. Thanks!

Dopo 36 anni di gloriosa carriera...senza parole.

Nice!! I like it!!! Do you got the partiture??

Too fast...but, still magnificent. This was the first aria I learnt, but no one can compare to Ghiaurouv.

Allegretto moderato e triste 1/4note=63. Since when does that equal a funeraltempo at 40 bpm as we are used to here it. Read the score! Puccinis intensions are clear. Colline is in a hurry. Mimi si DYING you know. So BillF; I dissagre with the rushed tempo. Listen to Toscaninis recording and we´ll all get a hickup of all the "rushed" tempi. Maestro Toscanini conducted the worldpremiere so he should very well know Puccinis intentions.

@DrFernandoBicudo Sadly, I must agree. I love Ghiaurov but this rushed tempo does seem to remove any emotion from the piece. Not to say that it should be some overwrought slowly paced dirge, but a couple of points of emphasis would seem to lend this piece a bit more emotional power. I don't pretend to know anything other than what I like so, there you have it.
What's most difficult? Paint a masterpiece with a couple of strokes or with a thousand? The fact of being simple don't diminishes the work. Regard something based on its complexity is the most ordinary fallacy of all.
