Im an Aussie so I might be a little of with this but from what i can gather the Tea Party movement wants to cut taxes and cut the spending at the same time, this spending supports Jobs. Now Americans are facing a massive fall in their standard of living irrelevant of who is in office. For decades neither party has cut been able to make inroads into the deficit, Reagan simply increased the subsidisation of Corporate Profits and ironically Obama has done the same thing in a roundabout way.
