Proposed solution of Republicans: has to be one or the other- 1) stand behind the rich insurance companies so they can keep screwing everyone over and let people die or 2) an inefficient ideology.

Health care is too important to let it be ran by private companies. Why not cut out the middle man and let patients pay doctors everymonth for their services. That way if the doctors keep their patients healthy they won't hardly ever have to see them but will still keep getting a check every month. Sounds like a win win to me.

I'll opt out of paying greedy corrupt insurance companies

don't have to have a religious reason against abortion.
you could discuss, what is life? how does cognitive capacity play into that? you say life starts at conception the moment a sperm fertilizes an egg. Morning after pill is murder as well. If someone murders a Pregnant woman they face two charges of murder 1 for lady 1 for baby. To some people life starts the moment the baby exits the mother's whom and is his/her's own separate entity; a being to himself.
both opinions can be debated.

We enter into the social contract giving up our powers as executors to the government to protect our natural rights and what those natural rights are is determined by the government. John Locke's view of a legitimate government would agree to universal health care. The libertarian view disagrees with universal health care. Because if you take natural rights seriously you'd give medicine to your citizens.
Katrina was a disaster. politicians left and right didn't take life seriously.

Wish we had someone like him in California but keep your eyes on us, the wind of change is a blowing. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. WE refuse to be part of the problem anymore.

Iowa gets someone like Steve King, in my NY district, I get John Hall who should have kept singing with Orleans. King is not afraid to tell it like it is.
