  • brilliant. Many 'jion's' on youtube have good upper body but weak stances - this is however very, very good.

    I must practice more!

  • very nice, thanks for sharing :)

  • This is brilliant indeed, unlike those other jion kata's posted

  • also the connection between the uper and lower body is very good, timing as well

  • Excellent performance, calm but strong, as slow (or fast) as it should be. Thanks for sharing

  • Really tight. Absolute economy of technique. Ergonomically perfect, with focus I could 'feel' from here. Terrific demonstration.

  • Watch his rear foot. On occasion it lifts, not good. The reactionary force will be weakened and one will not transmit full power to the target. Yes, we are all guilty of it on occasion. It was only an observation. Even the best can make some minor mistakes.

  • @ptboyindenver I have trained with Yaguchi. In the absence of Okinawan styles, stay where you are and train seriously.

  • @IEKUKATAKA You've mentioned this to me before and I have looked around, but this is an Okinawan karate desert. The best I am able to find in my area is an ISKF community ed program under Sensei Yaguchi, of whom I know you seriously diapprove. Despite whatever disagreement I may have with the ISKF, the instructor is a good, serious, old guy; the students are disciplined and willing. After most classes I'm exhausted and that's about all I really need at this point.

  • @ptboyindenver Get involved in Okinawan karate and be even more pleased.

  • Gortog - Yamaguchi is a very "zippy" karateka, a follower of Asai. His karate will never be heavy. i love the possibilities he opens up.
