楊麗萍一直以為女人就如同月光一樣有形和無形，她用抽象和變形的肢體語言表現了她的情感和月光的聖潔，在舞蹈中我們會看到舞蹈家是怎樣張開她那想像的翅膀。

楊麗萍
雲南大理白族人。 1971年進入西雙版納州歌舞團。她主演的大型民族舞劇《孔雀公主》曾榮獲雲南省1979年調演表演一等獎。 1986年她創作並表演的獨舞《雀之靈》是她的成名作，曾榮獲第二屆全國舞蹈比賽創作一等獎，表演第一名。 1990年在北京第十一屆亞運會閉幕式中，她主演大型舞蹈《雀之靈》。 1992年5月她成為大陸第一位赴台灣的舞蹈家。 1993年在中央電視台春節晚會上她創作、表演的雙人舞《兩棵樹》獲一等獎。 1994年9月中華人民共和國國務院授予她"全國民族團結、進步模範"稱號。同年12月獨舞《雀之靈》榮獲中華民族二十世紀舞蹈經典作品金獎。她導演並主演的電影《太陽鳥­》獲得加拿大蒙特利爾電影節評委會大獎。她出訪世界許多國家進行藝術交流，相繼在新加坡、菲律賓、美國、加拿大、台灣、日本等國家或地區舉辦專場舞蹈晚會。菲律賓國家民間­舞蹈協會贈予她終生會員。楊麗萍酷愛舞蹈藝術在舞蹈上獨闢蹊徑，自成風格。

楊麗萍出於對舞蹈的熱愛和與生俱來的民族特質，用了一年多的時間，深入雲南各地采風，甑選了具有云南典型代表的音樂舞蹈元素，花了十五個月的時間精心排演，用獨到的視角和­想像力傾心構架這一台大型原生態歌舞集《雲南映像》。並用原生、古樸的民族歌舞與新銳的藝術構思去展示《雲南映像》這一嶄新的舞台藝術創作風格。
