Using a GameBoy on an Aprilia SR50 DiTech

Using a GameBoy to diagnose a problem with an Aprilia SR50. Sometimes this scooter would have a sudden loss of power (SLOP) at wide open throttle (WOT). Otherwise known as SLOP at WOT. Unfortunately there was no power loss is evident in this video. The problem was eventually traced back to the fuel pump loosing pressure at WOT. Replaced the fuel pump and now the scooter runs great!

Hello,

Larger engines all have diagnostic tools from both the manufacturer and third parties. This tool was actually approved and distributed by Aprilia some years ago...

I do not think so, the "game" was created by Orbital (an engine development company) in Australia for Aprilia.

The gameboy cartridge is difficult to find, Aprilia stopped selling them last year. I borrowed this one from a friend at the dealer...

If you take the restrictor ring out of the CVT and use the game biy chip to turn the engine onto full power (turn off the restriction) it will do 62mph instead of 28mph.
