The caverns inbetween the multiverse, the above section within the picture - the floor of one, the bottom - the roof of another.
The lights that shine through are the fractures and connection points between them. The fiery plooms of burning ash are explosions due to the close proximity of such giant bodies or collapsing portals which were once as the bright blue sections.
