haha i got the same radio in the same sale in houston TX. Im running it on a 6 foot antenna mounted on those really big triple 5 inch diameter magnet base. its an excellent radio and with a good antenna it gets great reception and range, people say cobras are better but the simple matter of it is, for the same price you wouldnt get half of the features.

They are not made by cobra do the reasearch before you comment. Thses radios are poorly constructed and will no doubt quit working after a few years,. Total crap

I'm using the old 102" stainless steel whip. I've tried many other antennas,and nothing compares to a 1/4 wave antenna.

oh bud radio you shood have went and got a cobra 25 they hear alot better i bought a radio for 400 dollars it took me 6 mounths to pay off but all and all i'm happy you like it frindes

I used to have a cobra 29 and a cobra 148gtl along time ago. The recieve on this radio is actually a little better than the cobras. The only downside is that it doesn't put out as much power as the 29.
