I don't think it's any guarantee that Griffey would've set the record anyway even without his injuries. He was short by 126...the only seasons he really missed a considerably large amount of playing time, say fewer than 100 games played, was 1995, 2002, 2003, and 2004. Some seasons he wasn't on pace to hit 30 home runs. Maybe he would've gotten close but it would've been very hard to surpass Aaron, he would've needed to be tremendous in those seasons where he missed time, but he was also aging.

@thaproffesah Ask anyone who played the game with or against them, Junior for 10 years in 90s was the most complete player, 10 gold gloves in a row, and almost 400 homeruns. Bonds on steroids is the most unstoppable player in history though. 2001 was the single most dominant offensive season ever.
