For some reason it looks more relaxing in the winter. was that water natural spring water, or was it heated up after?

@TheLOCATION100 haha I have no idea, good question...we actually havn't been to that place yet & its fairly close to Fumi's olds...we've always just come here, coz Yuzawa is right next door to Nagaoka : )

@chrismecking Last January...we visited a few outdoor onsens. I have footage of an awesome one coming up...high on a hill above Ito, with the ocean on one side & Mt Fuji on the other : )

@LaurenNIHON It can be hard to get onsen footage. I was desperate to get some video of one on a beach in Shimoda & a rooftop in Kanazawa. But there was always at least one other person (Japanese) & I think if I asked them if they minded me taking some video. They would most likely get the wrong idea & report me as being hentai lol...highly recommend a snowy onsen, you should be able to find one if you head North West in January. Dormy Inn close to Kanazawa station is very good & only $65 p/n : )

Awesome! You reminded me of my trip up to Yubara onsen many years ago. It was snowing just like that and my wife said my very young daughters were building a snowman while still standing in the water. They didn't provide us with hats though.

@EsperRanger hahaha cute...we were very lucky. The rooftop onsen at the Dormy Inn Kanazawa had a lot of snow while we were there too...it just makes it about 10 times more awesome with the snow doesn't it : )
