  • What motivates me?

    Getting up in the morning and looking into the mirror. What I see in the reflection is the FAT me...then with a quick blur reality fades the NEW & IMPROVED me back in view. I told myself in the beginning of my transformation, that I would rather die standing than die lying on the couch eating my life away. I used to HATE myself...now I have grown fond of the new me and try my best each day to pat myself on the back and say, "YOU ARE DOING GREAT...KEEP GOING! & B+!"

  • Congratulations, you look great. I lost a lot of weight ( 150 lbs.) about 22 years ago and I've been able to keep it off, mostly through exercise, I walk/run 3 and half miles 5 days a week. I use a treadmill because I live in Phoenix and it's just too hot to walk outside. As far as motivation, I'm not sure, at first it was hard to keep walking but after about 6 weeks I didn't feel "right" if I didn't walk. I don't believe in denying yourself any food you may want, just watch the portions.

  • Great effort, you must be feeling much better physically and proud of yourself at the same time. Makes my 28 pounds since February 28th seem paltry !

    My motivation comes from several areas. Needing to get my cholesterol level down so I don't have to take statins for the rest of my life and the feel good factor now that I've got down to the weight I want to be at and how good it feels, both physically and mentally.

  • I'm so happy for your success! my motivation is other fat people. now when I see an overweight person(male or female) I think, OMG! They really need to lose weight. and I really urk when I see them eating fast food or junk. Maybe something mentally goin on with me reason why I feel this way. Since I still eat badly too sometimes and I'm not skinny! Motivation - I don't want to be in that class any more and have people look at me the way I look at other fat people. honesty is the best policey : ]
