By popular demand a vid of the famous Megaband at the Nov 5th 1985 Boars Head Enormo-gig featuring 10 bands. The Megaband (who are threatening to re-unite) consist here of the late Tony Cassidy on vocals, The late Dave Moss on Tenor Sax, The very much alive Ian Brookes and Tony Walley on trumpet duties(the Hillgate Horns?) A fresh faced John Dickenson and a swarthy John Brett on guitars, Graham Nall (current singer with the Soulbandits) banging things and Ian Wood on Bass and Pete Robinson thumping the tubs. This might be the only existing footage of this lot. When there was talk of re-forming the chaps needed a tape with the set on to jog their memories and I (being a bit anal) have the only remaining recordings which were done on the other side of old Men of 992 cassettes from when we used to record our gigs at the Manchester Arms on Sundays at John Bretts Boogie Club and we shared the bill. This will bring back a few memories for some people,,,,,,,

  • not much left really, just Bakers Vaults where Mr Brett can be found on occasion either boozing or playing in the Bluesblasters...Ian Brooks goes in pretty often too with Dot...John Dickenson and various others from the "old days"its the only place with regular live music around the Marketplace, even the Thatched has been boarded up for over a year now....

  • Rhiana Akroyd from Heaton Norris?
