The University of Tennessee Symphony Orchestra, Rachel Grubb (conductor), and James Fellenbaum (narrator) present Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra on September 27, 2009. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, School of Music is home to the UT Orchestra program, which presents 12 concerts each season. UTK School of Music website is: music.utk.edu In 2009, Rachel Grubb was a Senior in the UTK College Scholars Program in Conducting and Violin Performance.   • What does the narrator say about the basses? I can't understand him.

    The narrator says: "And now we come to the double basses. They're the largest string instrument, and they are the deepest and grandfather of the strings."

    The original score says: "The doublebasses are the grandfathers of the String family, with heavy, grumbling voices."

  • Amazing! <3 Perfect brass, strings were off ever so slightly here and there but managed to stay very tight, Conductor was clear with each entrance in the fugue, a flawless performance <3 :D
