A controversial portrayal of obsessive love and sex Betty Blue tells the tale of aspiring novelist Zorg (Jean-Hugues Anglade, Queen Margot) who earns a living as a handyman. When Betty, a sultry, unpredictable temptress enters his life and steals his heart away Zorg is suddenly taken on a rollercoaster ride of passionate sex and emotional blackmail that literally turns his life upside down.
As Betty pushes the limits of their relationship to the brink of destruction with her flighty tantrums and turns of jealousy, Zorg desperately clings to the fragments of what brought them together in the first place and suggests they take a sojourn to a dreamy rural town for some romantic therapy before calamity reigns and life irreparably spirals out of control.
