  • America never produced tea you dummy.

  • While it is true that the British Government was allowing the British East India Company to sell their tea without being subject to the taxes said government mandated in the Tea Act of 1773. They were doing so to preserve a company that was "too big to fail". The BEIC was facing bankruptcy due to the tea boycott in the colonies, so the British were going to allow them to sell the tea directly to consumers at a price that local merchants couldn't touch.

  • "The Real History of the Boston Tea Party"

  • Theres to much irony here, Quickly must find porn

  • @MrStarbuck123 Taxation without representation. That's what the mantra was. Maybe Britain could've turned the colonies into an overseas realm of the kingdom, with the Americans having the same rights & Parliament representation as the British, the way Hawaii is an overseas state, with the same rights & representation as any other American.

  • Americans weren't paying a fiftieth of the tax British Citizens living in England were, so I don't know what got them so angry

  • @MrJahka produced in this case meaning packaging and selling, not growing. the term is used loosely, in this case.

  • Actually your TRUTHS are completely wrong. The English levied at tax on tea (The Townshend Acts -- look it up) and when the Townshend Acts were repealed, the LEFT THE TAX on tea and REQUIRED the colonies to ONLY buy English tea - produced by the East India Company. Forced tax, without representation. THAT'S what they were protesting by dumping the tea. You're welcome.

  • I am not saying your right or wrong, but you know whats blissfully ignorant? The fact that you accuse one of being something there not when you told me know hard facts and have no credible sources on your information. You sir are a swine.

  • @birvine07 "just what all socialists try to do, rewrite history, distort the truth and influence people with propaganda."

LOL you think that socialism effects American politics to that degree? Propaganda has been used by EVERY U.S. president in the 20th century, and the 21st century to advance the political agenda of multi-national corporations and financial institutions. Get your head out of your ass and read literature by people like Thomas Ferguson, or "Propaganda" by Edward Bernays.

  • just what all socialists try to do, rewrite history, distort the truth and influence people with propaganda. They weren't growing home grown tea, they were smuggling it in to avoid paying taxes. They were angry that they had no say in the matter and their freedom of choice was taken away. you have learned well from Clinton and his spin doctors, now you have hooked your wagon to the obama train taking us straight into socialism.

  • we should buy the domain name from that canadian band and call ourselves the TEA PARTY FOR REAL unlike the stupid astroturf tea party that fights against their own interest.
