an actor whose sudden worldwide success as teenage heartthrob of the 80 he threw it into the harsh realities of adult and continuing drug abuse and rehabilitation, has died, said the Police Department of Los Angeles. Haim was only 38 years.

Sergeant Michael Kammert of the North Hollywood division confirmed the death. Cheryl MacWillie County Coroner of Los Angeles reported that Corey Haim was killed in early hours of Wednesday at the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, adding, "By getting out of bed, felt a little weak and fell on his knees in the ground, "so his mother called paramedics.

Corey Haim, born and raised in Toronto, Canada, came to fame starring as a teen star of the '80s classic comedies like Lucas and driver's licenses, among others. He also had co-starring in the classic vampire movie The Lost Boys, along with his colleague and fellow teen star Corey Feldman. Together they were known as "The Two Coreys."

In recent years, Corey Haim underwent rehab for addiction to prescription pills and cocaine.

After a long estrangement with Corey Feldman, Corey Haim met him in 2007 for a reality show signal A & E entitled "The Two Coreys," during which Feldman and Haim lived with his wife for three months. The show was renewed for a second season, but A & E had to cancel it then claimed that Feldman would not work with Haim until it obtains "the help they really need."
