So this movement is one of the non-traditional magical tricks that I loved when I first started the practice. It was something that I never imagined I would actually be able to do. But yoga is the power of transformation where the impossible becomes possible. Here I'll share with you some of the techniques that helped me learn this movement. Somehow it's easier to lift up into handstand (or it was for me anway) with wide legs, rather than straight legs because the pivot point of getting the pelvis forward over the arms happens faster. Anyhow have fun and enjoy!!!

  • I want to start practicing yoga because I have a lot of problems with my neck and I think yoga is the best exercise for my backbone besides pilates, but I don't know what style I should pick to practice, could you give me some advice about this.. thanks in advance! Your vid is great! you're very clear in your explanation, congratz!

  • @flaviarj2302 The best thing is to find a teacher whom you trust and respect and can practice with regularly.

  • Kino- This is great! Iv'e been adding Samakonasana and Hanumanasana just after Prasarita Padottanasana-D to help with the wide-leg opening required to do this. Do you think that adding these hip/leg openers to the Primary Series is appropriate?

  • @wyattsg123 Well it's really up to you and your daily teacher to figure out what the best practice is. But I generally wouldn't recommend doing the splits before Primary Series in the Standing Postures.

  • Kino, do you cross train to compliment your yoga practice? running, weight lifting, etc.?

  • @AnnMerren Hi Ann. Just a six day a week practice of Ashtanga Yoga! ;-)

  • @1129buttons loved when she said it too!

  • OH! haha loved it when you said '5 years'! Teachers NEED to be open about that stuff.

  • @KinoYoga Cool. Thanks!

  • Seriously Babe!!! perfect video for me, I so need to be challenged like this...I need a 5 year vision for my practice, and to be challenged to find peace in this place. Is there an online course, cause my career has me moving all over the place... :)
