@XkookiesXx Big deal, I've crushed plenty Meta Knight players, many of which with "low-tier" characters, like Pokemon Trainer. It's not just the character, it's the person behind it that utilizes the capabilities of the character they're playing as. A lot of times, I even have trouble playing as "higher tiered" characters. Like Snake, where his explosive moves always backfire on me.

You know people, how can you even say that tiers exist when they constantly change? Someone can be a high tier one minute and low tier the next. Plus, think this: When someone hears of a character being high-tier, they start using them and no one else. Due to this, So many people are playing as only people like Snake and Meta Knight, with very few other characters in between. As such the lists FORCE themselves into existence due to no one playing as a "low-tier". Plus, it's just not fun. Lucas!!

@drsoda812 I know that you didn't say anything but someone has to, I don't like metaknight but there are some people who likes him, and we don't care if he is the best of the worst, no character or stage should be banned its stupid, he was made into the game to be played, tourney or not, its not a fair decision and its pretty stupid it only shows how the tiers can ruin a good game.

@BrillantLoid1712 I never said anything about banning a character? See, now you just look like a hothead spouting out all of your annoyances, disregarding what I say. While I also believe MK shouldn't be banned, you have to realize others' reasons behind it; he is the best character in the game by far, earning his own tier. He has no negative match-ups at all, and he counters A LOT of characters. Using him already gives you a noticeable advantage (though you won't necessarily win). That's why.

Look, you can whine about tiers all you want, but if you aren't playing in tournaments, then you're a casual player talking about shit he doesn't know. You say someone who uses tiers is a queer; first, that's offensive to gays. Second, maybe at your level, but in high tourneys, paying attention to tiers gets you money.

@Chamchir9482 Your 2nd to last sentence clearly shows you did not THOROUGHLY read on tiers. Again, tiers are not absolute. Most people think characters must remain generally static because their movesets don't change, so how they could move up or down? On a professional level, characters are dynamic due to metagame. Metagame is the reason why tier lists change so much. As the metagame progresses, so the characers fluctuate. It's all been logically supported, whether you want to see it or not.

@Chamchir9482 No. Tiers are determined empirically by statistics, not by opinion. Statistically speaking, the majority of top tournament winners use Fox, Falco, Jigglypuff, Sheik, and Marth.

How would a hierarchy not exist if the characters aren't balanced? If the characters aren't balanced, some are better than others: lo and behold, tiers. There is no way around it. A character has to be on the bottom and another has to be on the top. This game has too many variables for absolute balance.

I have read up on Tiers, and I still know as a fact they are made by no-lifes who hate certain characters. Just because not every character is exactly balanced doesn't mean that tiers exist. And what's more, if tiers exist and are true, explain why the lists change so much, and why characters can completely change their level.

Not all characters in Brawl are balanced; tiers exist. Get over it. The tier list may not always be correct, especially because the meta game always evolves, but a hierarchy of some sort exists, as in all games with variables.

Also, just so you all know, tiers does not mean that playing a high tier character will win you the match automatically against a low tier character. That is why anecdotes of you winning matches with low tier characters have no logical basis.

@Chamchir9482 If you know every character isn't balanced, what are you arguing for? That Meta Knight isn't the best character or that tiers don't exist? Because if you acknowledge that characters are not balanced, you must acknowledge that tiers exist.

By the way, Danaroth is right: You are misinterpreting the definition of tiers and are completely disregarding the existence of match ups. Please spend some time at Smash Wiki reading on tiers before replying.

@Chamchir9482 Guess who also regularly beats Meta Knights with Ganondorf and Link. Guess who still admits that tiers exist. And the fact that you think tiers determine that there is a single best character shows that you know nothing about them. How can you make claims about a subject you hardly know anything about?

The character at the top of a tier list isn't necessarily the best in all matchups, but is the character with the most favorable matchups, in most cases.
