  • The event was actually “work force training,” not a jobs fair, and while there were “some jobs available,” it wasn't 500 as Coburn says. He literally pulled that number out of his a--. Show me a job fair ANYWHERE that doesn't attract huge crowds.

  • By any chance was that job fair only for people who are women, black, or military as job fairs often tend to be? Did anybody have any idea that this job fair even existed to begin with? If only 3 showed up, it has to be the latter. But it could also have been a Subway/Taco Bell fair for all we know.

They want unemployment to vanish so that we will be willing to sell ourselves into slavery and kiss their rings. Which probably won't be on their fingers, a lot of hooker scandals over there...

  • @MissMoxie78 I’ll never let republican misinformation go unchallenged. Thanks Mox!

  • The truth is Republicans want high unemployment and diminished numbers to receive unemployment benefits for the next 2 years and they’re going to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. I don’t believe one word Coburn just said. He’s a low class dirtbag, his district has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. He doesn’t give a shit about anyone.

  • As per skill set or job responsibility or employer requirement may be only 3 ppl fit. If job requirement is to hire only Java, c+++ etc. technical skill set ..do this senator think that employer will hire a carpenter or sales rep or a customer service rep......ppl should know before talking.........

  • So just let them eat cake? I'd invite Coburn or any other GOP members to have a job fair in Atlanta and see how many people show up. So this now is the argument here? Folks are just too lazy and dependent upon unemployment benefits? Seriously? Do they realize that benefits often aren't enough to cover monthly expenditures to begin with and most Americans would rather be earning a living instead of depending on unemployment?
