Heart of the Airfield

Excellent MoD documentary »The Heart of the Airport«
Cerklje ob Krki Airport, established approximately in 1938 as a mili­tary airport for the purposes of the Royal Yugoslav Army, has been used by the Slovenian Armed Forces since 1991. Since the airport fa­cilities were obsolete and outdated, the Ministry of Defence at the end of 2008 started renovating the airport. This project is considered to be the largest SAF investment in airport facilities, and the first major investment co-financed by NATO. The project group responsible for the renovation of the airport is led by Jože Lacko, while a journalist Vesna Marčič informs the public of the course of the project. In our interview, she presents a new 47-minute documentary »The Heart of the Airport« which addresses the construction of a new control tower.
