Day 3 of True Spirit of Christmas Tour 2010 in Tanzania

4 years ago your donations gave a family in Tanzania a goat. As it is local custom there, the first born of the goat's babies was given to the family's neighbor. This is the story of the neighbor family, the Mollel's, who are living proof of the ripple effect started by just one donation.

Tour notes: We traveled nearly an hour down a bumpy, dirt road to We traveled nearly an hour down a bumpy, dirt road to Moshono, Tanzania, a remote area of Africa that World Vision has been serving for nearly 15 years. There we met the Mollel family who, four years ago, received a baby goat from a World Vision goat given to their neighbor. Now, that goat means food, hope and a merrier Christmas for the whole family.

  • (cont'd) Our video team saw this firsthand. Even the neighbors of this family received a goat when the goat produced babies… it is a traditional practice that when we give animals to someone, they will give the first female offspring to a neighbor in need. –Jonathan, WV staff

  • Hello @fakir0005 and other YouTubers, we’d like to clarify that World Vision never uses actors. We take integrity very seriously and therefore only tell true stories. This story was found by our video team through our World Vision Tanzania communicators, based off a list of people who had received training from World Vision before they received a goat. This particular family was having a hard time growing banana trees and sugar cane until their goat fertilizer turned things around...

  • It show just how much an animal can help

  • wow amazing story!

  • wow amazing tory

  • @vidaripollen You are totally wrong. I do not see any older people in these videos who are getting any help. Even this video is not interested in truth be known. It is withholding my comments so that the donations to these organizations keep flowing.

  • Part 1. It's not the poor people in poor areas who r able to get the goats. These are clever crafty people who do not need the goats. These are the people who are able to reach World Vision and Unicef to get help from them. World Vision and Unicef make videos of these people saying what they want them to say to get donations from people who may not be able to donate so that they can give it away to people who do not need the help they are able to get. This is a scam.

  • Part 2. This scam consists of seeking out actors and have them say what the Organizations want these people to say so that people will get moved by what they see in these videos and start donating, Chicken, Goats, Cows and Cash to enrich these organization. These organizations don't help the really needy people. Really needy people are to proud to come out and say thy are starving. Their condition would not be known to the world. The people who are getting the wealth given in donation r actors.

  • God bless World Vision. These stories are incredible :)

  • very true.esp older people in poor ares ,when they get 1 she goat,a yr later their wealth would double.but keep in g then in a large pen is best.
