  • Progression at it's finest!!! Since making my comments about this show last yr, Marl has considerably improved on Golden Era in 2011 & I hope it stays that way cause nobody on radio can mess with this cat when he's on point & not being lazy. He makes ALL other radio DJ's look like novices including his own colleagues. Who knows maybe my constructive criticism helped, IDK but whatever I'm happy about this show now. But BLS better extend it to 3 hrs cause they just gave wack Classic Flavas theirs!

  • it's great to know MM is back on the wheels on WBLS!

can u recommend more live FM radio to listen to with old skool hip hop electro rap - mid 80s stuff please? (via internet radio...)

    THANX!

  • @musiqgem tI remember when the battle vs KISS FM was at tis height. Marley was always a better technical DJ than RED Alert i.e. mixing, blending.cutting .scrathing .Believe me I still got the tapes to prove some of those amazing mixes but where REd alert always beat him was the fact that he only played cold chilling artist some good some not so good.I think the bitch ass ness of him and Magic(and maybe it was just business) turned a lot of people off

  • Even when Marley was on 105.1 at noon he only had a half hour show but he used to dig in his vault & breakout some vintage unreleased joints & acapellas from "The House Of Hits"! I don't understand why his format has changed since he went back to BLS. I thought now that he has a 2 hour show on friday nights he will have alot more time & freedom to play a variety of hip hop joints along with his unreleased material that will probably never see the light of day. It's really more like an R&B ATTACK

  • @ralft But he never plays any of his exclusive unreleased material that he produced from back in the days. Marley always used to hit us with "Never Heard Before" joints when he was on WBLS in the 80's until his show got canceled in '91. Even when him & Pete Rock went to Hot 97 in the 90's they used to "Lay Some Treats On Us". Now back on BLS Marley barely plays any hip hip at all on friday nights, just the same old r & b joints and a "LITTLE BIT" of popular rap, no House Of Hits unreleased gems!

  • I'M GONNA KEEP THIS 100 & SPEAK THE TRUTH! I WAS A DIE HARD FAN OF THE "RAPATTACK" & "IN CONTROL" WITH MARLEY & PETE @ THEIR FINEST. BUT THE "GOLDEN ERA RADIO" SHOW IS NOT KEEPING THE LEGACY OF THOSE SHOWS OR MR. MAGIC ALIVE AT ALL. MARLEY HAS 3 DIFFERENT SHOWS ON BLS. M-F AT NOON & 6PM ONLY SOUL/FUNK & DISCO IS PLAYED & FRI 6PM IS USUALLY HOUSE MUSIC, NO HIP HOP. BUT THEN THIS SHOW COMES ON FRI 9-11PM & STILL MARLEY PLAYS 75% R&B & ONLY ABOUT 25% RAP, & THE SAME JOINTS ARE PLAYED ALL THE TIME!

  • still only playing cold chillin records hahah

the same as in the eighties. marley is such a talented dj i would love to hear him mix other records. he is a real innovator and could bring new life to some of those records
