The 1st song I bought of his was "Don't take her she's all I got" when I was a youngster. I don't know who did it first but that's when I first heard it.

Good to hear from you again, Mr. Spicer - as a matter of fact I just checked out SB's version - very deep. It doesn't surprise me that this tune was written by Swamp Dogg - the man is prolific.
