This is a really nice song. She is singing about being a bird and not having the strength for wars. She is not Turkish, but she sings better than most Turks singing today. About Istanbul, and Turkey in general, I am not so concerned about buildings becuase the Turkish people never put enough effort to protect their old buildings, but the society is moving backwards more than ever, mostly because of the AKP. Some European Capital of Culture, it is more like an Arab Capital of Culture.
So good to see this footage again! I recognize it from a documentary called "Crossing the Bridge" about Turkish music. I loved this and virtually all the music in it as well as the equally beautiful scenery.
Beautiful; Istanbul is being damaged for some junket in 2010, fine old buildings and old quarters destroyed. Much Turkish music is now cloned from the USA, which the musicians probably think is progress. And that's voluntary, not forced on them. This is the way to lose your culture and then your identity. I think this song was put on for Turkish speakers, but if anyone could translate or give us some info about the singer and the song, it would be valuable.
is not she turkish singer.? she doesnt have any accent ..her accent is more perfect than turkish speakers..:)
