Mohammed expresses confidence in UAE economy

In an interview with CNN, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that the UAE's economy is strong despite the effects of global financial crisis. Underscoring the local economy's ability to overcome all challenges arising as a result of the worldwide recession, Sheikh Mohammed revealed Emirates Airline's decision to purchase new aircrafts next month.

The Sheikh was making his point about moving forward and propagating his plans for advancement, while Mr. Defterios steers the conversation back to prospective issues brought about by the IMF. In the end, well said by the Sheikh, 'Life will be boring with challenges, but we will not let them bring us down'. Take note USA.

Mr. Defterios has only succeeded in highlighting his own agenda - to re-emphasize the US' Middle East influence. On another note, it would help the US to realize that pessimistic visions, such as that of Mr. Defterios, will only take you so far.
