I remember this commercial as if it were running day in and day out! I always wondered who the wife was ... and my high school buddy, Gary, who is Chinese, never got tired of saying stuff like 'ancient Chinese secret'. We were both a bit nuts back in those days!

Great classic commercial. I will never forget how many kids teased me with that famous line "Ancient Chinese secret" as I was growing up. Thanks for sharing.

Ya know, people talk about stereotyping, but isn't it true that many, many laundries were run by Chinese for a long time?

The ad was a winner because it used a stereotype (while kind of skewering it), and also showed a wife making her know-it-all husband look the fool. Though Mrs. Lee really should have thought more about her family business' success.

Mrs. Lee is Asian-American. Most Asian-Americans have their local "American accent." What's so peculiar about that? Foreign accents are generally only present in first generation immigrants.

Thanks for the lesson bud. I learned something and not just the trivial fact that you are a jackass. :)
