  • I wouldn't know about Europeans since I'm in North America but I'm always interested in other cultures so if you have examples I'd like to see it and maybe make an episode for it.

Though some artists classify their work as OEL not all of them are people desperate to be published in Japan. Many of them make their own distinctive style that's familiar to the "Manga" style but hold up very well in both art and story.

  • OEL manga is...something I don't understand. It's great to be influenced, it's great to take something from different cultures.

I think Europeans got it right. There is a lot of european comic artists who obviously were influenced by manga ( drawing style, pacing of the panels), but they don't call it manga, they don't pretend it's manga.

It's a little sad to see all those OEL manga artists trying so hard to copy the style, some of them dreaming about being published in Japan.

    Thanks for this.
