When To Break A Record was removed from the BBC2 trade cupboard because it sounded more like a BBC1 tape after its initial introduction in February 1979, in August it was replaced by this wonderful tape which told me more about the character and the quality of the programming which I would expect from BBC2 than any other tape. This tape was heard until its withdrawal in December 1983 when it was replaced by Sugar Loaf and at least two tracks were heard on two other tapes: Sunshine In Paris was heard on a tape which was introduced in January 1980 and the other, The Last Dance, was heard on The Green Leaves Of Summer on BBC1 in April 1980. On this Ray Anders orchestra tape you can hear Belle Canon and Elvira - so enjoy!!!!
This is the one i remember.

I loved the opening track, but the tape seemed to get duller as it went on. Skaters's Waltz failed to deliver as a bossa-nova, and the Blue Danube was a very dull blue indeed. However, some nice tracks were also featured. I think I was just a bit fed up of it being there for five solid years! It even cropped up on BBC1 a few times!

Ah I see now. Thanks. :) It's still a beautiful piece nonetheless. :)

This particular arrangement was called "Belle Canon" presumably as a play on the composer's name Pachelbel.

The composer who wrote this song is actually called Pachelbel, but this piece is called 'Canon'.
