This video shows the outdoord tests of the Dreambot robot (autonomous-unmanned ground vehicle). The webcam points to the direction where the car steers thanks to the Arduino. The car is build on a modified Traxxas E-Maxx RC car.

In this particular video a laptop computer accesses the miniITX board sending commands. Those commands are interpreted by the CPU and it generates serial commands for the arduino. The arduino follows the commands using the feedback of both the compass and the odometer (see other videos).

This work has been done by Carlos Agell in the Dream Lab at University of California, Irvine, under the funding of Fundacion Caja Madrid.

  • Would you be willing to show the code you used for that and how you figured out how to use the servos like that insted of them being wheels. Thanks.

  • are you using an arduino mega or duemilanove

  • think the CG of your dream bot's a wee bit too high for an outdoor vehicle... nonetheless, awesome work =D.

  • what is this meant to be???
