Introduction to debate lectures. Public Forum Debate course taught by Jonathan Wolfson at SciAcademy in New Orleans. In this video, Jonathan introduces the "public forum" (formerly Ted Turner debate) style of debate. Public Forum is a communication-focused team debate competition. Public Forum debates are the style of debate seen on television and all seek to persuade any audience. This is one lecture in the free learning to debate series brought to you by TheGreatDebate.   • @RedX0809 Glad this is helpful. Flowing is covered in a separate video. Also, if you would like outlines to use with your newcomers contact us and we'll send you the absolutely free student and coach packets with outlines, a syllabus, and homework exercises too! Visit our website for more details on the free materials.

  • i'm actually taking notes of this so that I can teach the newcomers next year.  I have to more or less coach the team as a sophomore next year being the only one with a full year of experience. There will be one person with 1/2 a year of experience >.< Very helpful video. Thanks! I wish you could have covered flowing/note taking in the round, but otherwise very good.
