On July 23, 2007, CNN and YouTube partnered to sponsor the first Democratic primary debate of the 2008 election cycle. Questions were asked by citizens from around the country by uploading personal videos to the YouTube website.
@zeppelin2224 Does it matter if its a right... it is a philosophical debate we can be bored about all day. Is having a highway a right, or a fire department?
I dont care... Im the consumer, and i want free healthcare, and I want to pay for it with taxes so that way I own it, so if they fuck around... I can threaten the people I vote for to sort it ou or I will throw them out of office and replace them with someone else who will give the bloody healthcare I demand.
@BasilFawlty4444 I never said the US Constitution was the foundation of human rights. I said that health care is not a right according to the Constitution, therefore it's not a right in the US. You can always amend the Constitution if needed, but right now health care is not a right in the US.
What people in the UK think is irrelevant in terms of established American law. The law can be changed, which requires a debate. (the dems lost that debate, most americans don't want mandated health care)
@zeppelin2224 Now that's VERY American. Acting as if the AMERICAN Constitution and Bill of Rights is the absolute foundation of human rights. That's a little like me saying that the Magna Carta is the absolute standard of human rights.
Ask any person in the UK and they will almost certainly tell you that healthcare free at the point of use is a fundamental human right.
You can't just act as if the Constitution is in any way absolute or infallible - As I recall, it once banned alcohol!
It's too late to implement the plan now.....it should have been done 50 yrs ago, when there would have been a chance to build a reserve in the plan. You implement it now and the first thing that happens is that all the boomers suck it up before it gets a chance to grow. It would still be cheaper in your taxes than buying private health insurance, and every American should be backing it, but it should be funded heavily. In a country with massive debt, it won't be easy.
@whateverman181 Yes, actually that is how it works. Maybe if you had read the Constitution before you would know that the Federal Government only posses specifically enumerate powers mentioned in the Constitution. Also, our Constitution is the supreme law of the land, in that sense, it is more important than the Bible. If you want to have a debate about amending the Constitution then that's fine, but ignoring it is not wise, because it promotes disrespect for the rule of law.
@zeppelin2224 LOL. So therefore because the constitution does not say it therefore it's not. Some of you are equating the Constitution with the Bible or some type of religious document. It's not. It's amazing how many so-called Christians do not even care about other human beings.
@zikalify Well, I can see a doctor the same day I call.
Where do you live? Do you live in a town? Perhaps you could change your practice.
I have three or four surgeries within 15-20 minutes walk, and a new one just opened.

@BasilFawlty4444 I'm also from the UK and my local doctors is useless, I have to wait a week before they will see to me. Ron Paul needs to win this!
