  • do u have to return your car after installing?

  • @TTheUnit - nope. The only time a GFB valve that vents to atmosphere can affect the tune is when it vents - that only occurs when you lift the throttle after being on boost, and only for a very short duration. At all other times, the valve does NOT affect the tuning in any way. In most cases, most cars will have no problem at all venting to atmosphere (using a correctly adjusted GFB valve).

  • @gfbvideos how do i correctly adjust my gfb?on my 06 sti?

  • @TTheUnit - there's a video on spring pre-load adjustment on our website that illustrates the procedure, just head to the GFB website and look under videos - it shows a different valve but it's exactly the same procedure. Once the spring is correctly adjusted, you can change the venting bias to wherever you want. In a nutshell, if you make it too soft, the car will stall or idle badly and hesitate on gearshift, if it's too hard you'll hear more "flutter" than "whoosh".

  • can it be adjusted for flutter? softened?

  • @sof1map - if you must have flutter, you would simply increase the spring pre-load adjustment (not the electronically adjusted setting). A firmer spring pre-load will increase flutter. You could also block off one of the outlets and use the electronic adjustment to change between "whoosh" (or recirc) and "flutter". Again, that's if you really want to - it's not designed for this purpose nor is it recommended to do so - the purpose of a BOV is to get rid of flutter, rather than cause it.

  • its very nice but i would like my bov to make the whistling sound like my hks bov.... do u make inserts for this bov??

  • @pickyournose500 - should be pretty easy. Just measure the inlet and outlet internal diameter of the hoses connecting to your factory valve (I believe they are both 25mm on the Starlet, but best to check), and then simply order the Deceptor Pro with the correct size inlet and outlet to suit. Email us at sales@gfb.com.au for more info if you need it.

Lag is dependent on your individual car, but in any case this valve will reduce lag over the factory valve.
