when i visited japan i made a effort to go see this aquarium because i've always wanted to see a whale shark. i was let down , something as beautiful as a whale shark should not be kept in a aquarium. overall the aquarium is very nice and the tank they keep the whale shark is pretty nice but for the size of the giant stingray and the whale shark it looked way to small. if i can remember correctly the aquarium has to replace whale sharks pretty often because they die like in a year or very short

this is terrible and disgusting. hasn't anyone ever called the Osaka aquarium to protest? The poor animal. Just look at its back fin (People who has watched free Willi: what does that fin tell you)
That the poor animal has been in captation too long.

I would love them to b free but the whale sharks being in captivity teaches us how we need to keep these animals in the ocean

it looks quite slim compared to what ive personally seen on TV documentaries etc.. Its a shame.. Beautiful fish.. but should be in the wild.
