I think this could be a really humorous effect as a gambling routine, especially if you really play up the big fella getting pissed off that he can't deal the full house...I guess it all comes down to the character you want to present

Well, it's a decent effect. Nothing too mind blowing. I do like Harry Lorayne's work. The one thing you do need to work on is your jog shuffle. Find a book or video and learn it properly.

Great performance and story line by you but the effect is weak and boring.. Too many deals and the ending is weak.

i don't get it?

its pretty simple 2 me

I couldn't credibly carry off a character of being a big time (or even small time) gambler with anyone I do tricks for. But it's useful for me to have a trick like this that can hint at that aspect of card work, but which, as you rightly say, has a lighter tone to it

Nice job.
I would like to respond to the negative comments about this effect.
The thing about magic is, magicians tend to think, well... like magicians. You need to think like laymen.
Here is what Scarne wrote about this effect,
"This TERRIFIC poker deal has lot's of surprises and builds up its effect as it continues."
If you fail to impress with this routine (for laymen), it is the fault of the performer and not the routine.

Thanks CrdShk for your comment, it's appreciated all the more coming from someone who can do what you do on your videos.

I agree to a point about tricks that rely on a number of consecutive deals being potentially boring, but, slightly to my surprise, when I've done this for 'real' people, that hasn't seemed to be a problem. I'm concentrating on trying to improve my handling / presentation of a couple of 'multi-deal' tricks, we'll see how it goes. Thanks for your comment.

Holy Cheese!
My friend! You are super!
I have just bought a Harry Lorayne memory book (super memory super student) - I am shocked that H.L doesn't have celebrity status - he is amazing isn't he?
What book you guys are talking about?

It's the first time anyone has ever said "Holy cheese" when I've done a trick, and I thank you for that!
The book is Harry Lorayne's "Classic Collection Volume 1". It may seem expensive, but you get three and a half books in one, and it is FULL of great tricks of all different kinds, really well explained. It's great value and I can't recommend it highly enough.
