A Quick Rant About PetsMart And Such Stores:

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!

Buying anything from such stores supports them and allows them to continue treating animals this way. Please spread the word about my boycott and please do so yourself, all video responses and comments supporting the matter are appreciated, along with acts outside of youtube. I started a group whose link is below called : PetsMart/ Petco Must Be Stopped!

http://www.youtube.com/group/PetsMartboycott

Some people don't seem to understand the point of a boycott of these stores. By still buying animals/ supplies/food from these stores you allow them to continue to act in the ways they do. The animals they get are bred in facilities where they are kept in horrible conditions, neglected and usually most die. This is the reality. Even by shopping at your local store because you think its fine, you are supporting the company as a whole, not the individual workers and by doing so you are first hand contributing to animal cruelty. If we can atleast make this aware to people and have people stop shopping there, at the very least people would have a realization of what is being done and the stores would have to in some way need to revive their image.

DO what you wish but please don't tell me that you think your store is better than the rest or, its ok because i just go there once a week for one thing. It's not better.

Spread the word make videos of your own, get this information out there.

Those who don't speak out against injustices when they have the ability to, are no better than those contributing to the problem.

Hopefully The Little guy will Recover and i will be sure to keep you guys up to date on his road to recovery

  • dang! thes comments are off the chart. I have this, I have that. colledge degrees at 20? Any 4 year old with a reptile better hope a responsable parent(s) are takin care of it. Witch was more than likely this case! Rather than argue, why not take some time to write down some educational facts and care guidelines for water dragons. Whitch leads me to my point. The average person is not educated enough to own any reptile. Or for that matter bird, fish, hamster, or anythin else available these days

  • @warrendevaul hmmm don't ever remember metioning a degree, and at 4 I fed and cleaned my animals, of course with help in some matters, none the less was still caring for them and have been working with them, studying them for 16 years. That being said I do not teach people how to care for animals. I show people how I take care of mine, and allow them to do what they wish, because that is what they will do anyway. If I made one 10 minute video about water dragons,

  • @cavajason people think they know everything there is to know about that animal and will just go buy one, people don't do research, they don't even really appreciate the animals half the time, they just think it would be cool to have one or that they can impress their friends etc. I don't want to contribute to that kind of behavior, also this video is not about everyday care of a water dragon it is about caring for an animal whose condition is the result of neglect, and the steps to his recovery

  • I work for PetSmart, and yes I agree the breeding facilities we get our animals from are not the best and the company could find better. However, we treat all animals that come into our store as if they were are own, fish included. At my particular store we only have Reptiles and Fish. If any of them get sick they are immediately taken to the vet, and nurtured back to health at our store. Some make it others don't, we provide the same care as you would from home.

  • I work at PetSmart in Petcare. It really all comes down to management. If a store doesn't have good management, then things can get shitty. Personally in our store, we take supreme care of our pets, probably better than what the future pet-parents will be willing to do. We also take all sick pets to the vet, spending whatever it cost to help them. After we adopt them out for free, and only to serious pet parents. Some stores are shit, that's the way it is, but not all for sure.

  • Also an employee of PetSmart (not PetsMart like your description says) and I'm sorry that you feel this way towards the company but your comments are very out of context. Please don't assume that we treat our animals this way because we don't. Just like TiaSchenewerk said the breeders we get them from may not be the best but we treat them like our own. I take time out of my own day to come in and help tame them by holding them and giving them love they deserve.

  • NIRVANA!!!!!!!!

  • well you did the right thing for sure and this video was a year ago, hows he doing? i was in a similiar situation with a baby bearded dragon last year, there were a bunch of them crowded in a tank in the back with no heat or UVB and they were all in pretty bad shape but i took the one that looked the sickest and he passed away about 2 days later :/ its terrible, they shouldnt be selling animals. and this was petco by the way but same thing

  • DUDE HE LOOKS LIKE DRAKE FROM THAT OLD SHOW DRAKE AND JOSH BUT WITH LONG HAIR

  • That shirt is awesome, but I'm sure you've probably heard that a few times already.

  • Cont.

And when people open small family/community owned and ran pet stores, they do it 99% of the time for love of the animals, and monetry profit is seen as a secondary benefit. People who open reptile stores typically have been keeping and caring for reptiles for years before they ever made a dime off of one. Same is true for birds, dogs, fih, or any animal.

The corporations on the other hand exsist only as a means to make money, and the animals are just a tool in that process. Good vid ;)

  • Petsmart and Petco suck so hard. I don't care what people say about THEIR local branch being better or the exception to the rule, etc. The company as a whole is the problem. If it wasn't for those shitty giant pet corporations, then the local buisnesses would be able to flourish instead of contantly struggling to stay afloat as they do now. People who open small pet stores actually do it for the love of the animals, in huge contrast to the corporations which operate soley for the shareholders.

  • subscribe to me and il subscribe to u

  • I agree, i have only bought an African Fat Tail gecko once from a local Petsmart. I was looking for a new night bulb. I always like my lizards to have heat, so instead of driving an hour to LLL Reptiles, a place that i LOVE, i quickly went down to Petsmart. there i met a nice women. She told me of her geckos, and said one was up for "adoption".That was the key word which got me interested. the next day she brought him in from her house, and we talked about it.It was in good condition so i tookit

  • You look like Drake out of Drake and Josh xD
