Fair enough. I see so many people releasing fish they have battered the hell out of. Annoys me, as they would be better off eating it.

@IslamTheLoveOfMyLife well first of all its illegal to keep wels caught in the river ebro. secondly, these fish are not made of glass. They can take alot more than people give them credit for, i've seen it. Third, I enjoy fishing/being on water, and am fully capable of feeding my family and 10 more from the fish i catch. Therefore the only fish i keep are ones that have their gills torn up or are deep hooked. keeps the population up so i can enjoy a good fishery, and have a little to eat.

Why fish if you are going to release the fish? It's not a sport to stick a hook through a fishes mouth, throw lead in its waters, break its teeth, starve it of oxygen, damage its gills etc - If your gonna catch and release, better off not fishing or using a net, or juts grabbing the fish with your hands.
