I first heard her play last night on NPR's Performance Today. It was the "Emperor" with Paavo in Bonn. I got in the middle of the performance and thought I was hearing Argerich. It was Helene, with the same drive and excitement. Then I listened to the Beethoven Fourth with Eschenbach on YouTube. What a discovery . She plays Beethoven the way it should be played. She's not hard to look at either.

D'autres aiment beaucoup les interprétations d'Hélène Grimaud, alors, allez donc écouter ceux que vous aimez et foutez nous la paix. Qui êtes-vous pour vous poser en juge ? Vous seriez le plus grand mélomane de la planète que cela ne vous autoriserait pas à descendre quelqu'un juste parce que vous ne l'appréciez pas. i regret so much listening to her playing. she is such a pretty and intelligent woman. yet her playing is really mediocre at best, you can find a dozen players who can as well as her at juilliard every year. her sound is so flat, can't believe that she is french their music is full of color. no depth and personality at all when she plays.
