What Albufera looked like 45 years ago. Ciudad Jardin. Does it still exist? Then on to Cabo de Huertas along the rocky coast. My mother, her sister and husband are the actors. All are not alive anymore.

  • Dear Michael,

Albufera changed totaly since that time, so you can see it on the modern YOUTUBE videos! I wasn´t for 5 years there because I take care of my very ill mum here in Munich! But one day I will come back because we have still an appartement there I have to care! Maybe I will move back to Alicante after the death of my mum! Maybe we can meet there, it would be wonderful! Best wishes Helmut Junger

  • Dear Helmut, Thanks for your comments. Yes, it was all sweet and gemütlich then. I haven't been back to Alicante in twenty years! I'm 80 years old now and go only on cruises leaving Amsterdam.

  • Ciudad Jardín está en la carretera de San Vicente. Las casitas del video son las de la Colonia Albufereta si no me equivoco, que también existen, aunque muy diferentes...

  • Thanks, good man. it was a very fine time then.

  • nice one - i first went in 1975 to a time-share condo of my uncle. it had taken off by then. i suppose at 2min 36 it was already quite developed for the time. the pictures are wonderful of an alicante now buried under concrete! <3

  • michael. ciudad jardin todavia es un barrio de Alicante y estas imagenes son extraordinarias. Un abrazo de un Alicantino.

  • What a nice way to start the day. Thanks Michael.

  • I like the 1st photo most, look at the sea ;-) Such a sleepy looking place, beautiful, thanks again for sharing ;-)
