@TehCuriousGuy Erm, you'd have to boot from disk if no OS is already installed. Theres a button on your keyboard that boots from a CD. Once you've installed it. I just remembered. Make sure you've set your bios to boot from CD. Then change it back after installation.

So basically, say i buy a computer that has no OS Installed in it, but i have a windows 7 installion disc i can put it in the computer and this will happen? yes or no?

@gingatim It really is, im a computing course undergraduate student meaning i can get lots of software for free so there would be no point pirating it when MSDN give it me for free

if you're only missing your boot manager you can re-install it with out losing everything... by doing a start up repair, none the less great video about OS installation
