  • no matter what will happen we will never forget them NEVER and they can say what they want friend as long as people like you and me are alive and pass it on ,they will never grow old like we grow old we will never forget them!

  • I have just discovered that my Great uncle James Gurney Speirs died at the Ypres Salient 1917 and his name is on this memorial. He came from Galashiels in Scotland and was only 19 years of age he never had time to marry and have children, such a waste of life. I pay tribute to all our brave soldiers that have died in all the stupid wars our cowardly politians have sent them to. We will remember them.

  • I was there in 92.... in the Summer but yet the Whole town still turned out for our parade at the gate. Just like they do in November. something that will stay with me forever.

  • such an amazing place. i played the pipes there in 2004 when we were on the battlefield tour lt. col. george story pue organized for me to play a lament and The battles o'er.
