Dr. William Petit Shares His Reasons For Supporting The Fight Against MS

At a recent fundraiser, Dunk It! Petit MS Memorial Basketball Tournament, Dr. William Petit talks about how MS affected his wife, Jennifer, and how his daughters, Hayley and Michaela, joined the fight, raising awareness and funds to help find a cure. Over 8 years, Hayley, who established a Walk MS team called Hayley's Hope, raised more than $55,000. In June 2008, about to attend college, Hayley was preparing to hand the fundraising reigns over to younger sister Michaela. Michaela had put together her own Walk MS team - Michaela's Miracle. That was just before the horrific home invasion that tragically took the the lives of the three beloved Petit women. In March 2008, Meg Alexander, one of Hayley's best friends, and pals, Justin, Jesse and Wayne, established Dunk It! to pay honor to the Petit family, who were devoted to the MS cause and who were also passionate about the game of basketball.

He is a very strong man. I hope when he goes to heaven his family is there to greet him right away. He has to carry this pain till then. His family is in the most peaceful place beyond imagination and they would want him to cheer up as much as he could. I think he is doing it. He is celebrating and carrying on who they are and the many good years and moments they lived. People like him help others with their faith and struggles

This man is a fighter. I know not a day goes by without that horrific night going through his mind but he is doing his best to fight through the emotional pain he'll have to live with the rest of his life. I pray he can fall in love again and marry, or least find some happiness. I pray for you Dr.Petit and my heart is with you.

Poor man. WE, society, are the 'freaks', in that we let our laws now dictate UNDUE due process, for his family's murderers. There is NO WAY they should be alive in jail right now, NO way. In cases of proven guilt in heinous crimes, it should be UNDER TEN DAYS that they are taken to a GALLOWS, NOT intravenous injection (TOO GOOD FOR THEM) ... and then the families of the victims and ALL THE PUBLIC that a large building can hold should be invited to come and witness the JUSTICE of killing SCUMS.
