  • if you gut the cat, use some of the expanding foam insulation inside the heat sheild to stop it from rattling and if you get into trouble with emissions laws then cant tell if its gutted by banging on it

  • Thank you i will keep that in mind!

  • Gettin ready to eather gut the Cat or just cut the cat off and pipe it to the muffler. Or by a highflow cat. any ideas?

  • I have the Flowmaster 3 inch super 40 muffler in a 95 G30 1 ton van. The muffler was Installed in 2007. In 2008 I replaced The timing chain, fuelpump, rebuilt the distributor, installed an Edelbrock intake for Throttle body, a TBI aftermarket camshaft from Compcams, K&N open air filter. I hacksawed the stock air cleaner housing old school. I also did the ultimate TBI mod but haven't modded the fuel pressure regulator yet.

  • Tooooooooooooop sound.......

  • Hey how and or how did you get the new pipe prebent or did you have to get that done?

  • @Stodyrulz did you gut the cat?

  • stock tailpipes generally last 10+ years so why do you think a stock replacement would only last a few months?

  • @josecastillonyc because it's going to sound the same either way

  • @Stodyrulz The honeycomb inside my cat had broken up a few years ago and I just now got around to fixing it last night. I went to the auto parts store bought a 2 1/2" pipe and ran it from the front where the cat used to be to the muffler, it was a little short so i had a piece of stainless steel and welded that onto the end of the pipe and the muffler and its sounds mean now! its a 97 4.0 inline 6 engine. got rid of the loud/annoying rattle and got a deep, mean sound now, muffler is still on!

  • nice tip

  • @josecastillonyc he probably replaced it all from the cat back with what looks like factory stuff probably from an auto parts store

  • @chevytruck123 i was thinkin about gettin a setup thats quiet at idle but rumble when goin. only because my baby rides in there
