Hummingbird's Norway Tour 2006

In the European summer of 2006, 15 of our children and youth were so lucky to experience the journey of a lifetime, invited by The Førde International Folk Music Festival to realize a series of workshops and presentations, which united African mysticism with Capoeira, Makulelê, modern break-dance and traditional Samba, all in a colorful display of memorable acrobatic energy and rhythmic drumming during the festival. Their opening of the festival with the exotic presentation called "ROOTS" was surely one of the highlights of the week-long event.
The Hummingbird Cultural Group became acquainted with a new culture and left behind warm memories of their own Brazilian culture with the many Europeans who were lucky enough to experience their incredible energy.

This just amazes me. To go from the favelas to the affluent country of Norway. It really is two different worlds and the kids deserve it more than anyone else.
