@MrSBChevy Yeah dude, just turn yourself in. They're not gonna kill you, just gonna waste a lot of your time, took me 8 months total to go through the whole process of getting discharged for awol, that's including my jail time which was 3 months.

This is the same military that is effectively dumping TRILLIONS of dollars of our tax money into the middle east desert while our debt goes through the roof, schools are grosely underfunded, our economy is facing a second great depression. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that our nation is being ruined by the military. Just wait several more years for another trillion dollars to be dumped into the middle east desert and we will see how our economy is then.

@achhang1 You don't do your "final" swear in until the day you ship out to basic training. I'm assuming you are in the DEP. You can withdraw anytime until that final swear in. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

Yea this guy is such an asshole for going AWOL. He should have gone to Iraq and killed a bunch of little kids. Soldiers shouldn't get away with this. If you sign up to go overseas and rape little girls then you better not back out!

@Squadomatick Well your father pays good money to put it there. And what about after Ive dumped a load of sperm in your mothers anus, he loves to suck it out.
do they have "awol in hawaii" ? ive been a deserter for 2 years this christmas.
all i want is my life back , and to go home to illinois. i miss my family.
but nope cant do that , i read that i could face the death penalty. why? its not like im a hazzard to the public, why should i be put to death , or sit behind bars?
im 21 and my life is over because i had problems i didnt know how to deal with when i was 18, i was a kid then.i just want my life back

@MrSBChevy yes I think the death penalty is still on the books, BUT I've interviewed a shit ton of AWOL soldiers over the last few years and none of them spent a day jail for it to my knowledge... Dishonorable discharge was the most common punishment. They don't want the bad publicity that would come from killing you or even punishing you. Look up IVAW dot org and Operation Awareness dot org for inspiration and the GI Rights Hotline for some solid how to knowledge. Good Luck to you.
