@bstickq1 ok, so for q#1 if u r dribbling u have established "frontcourtship", so you cannot dribble into the backcourt even if u are doing it on one leg. and for q# 2, if you do that then yes you'll get an 8 sec violation. if u wanna stand there on one leg then u should pass the ball to a teammate in the front court to avoid the call.
It's a good reversal. Kevin never established frontcourt. In order to establish front court you have to have both feet planted in the frontcourt. These commentators actually explained it perfectly. That's the rule and that should be the end of the story. Not sure what all the arguing is about. It's a clear call, if you don't agree then go petition to Stern to change the rule instead of the goaltending crap he's talking about, lol.
@SaxyMan92 So I could hop on one foot while dribbling to the basket and then back into the backcourt with no violation? Or is hopping traveling? If that is considered traveling (I don't know), could I hop onto one foot from the backcourt and balance myself there (in the frontcourt) for 8 seconds and receive an 8 second violation even though my whole body is in the front court? The rules makes no sense.
@SaxyMan92 Hmm that's interesting. Didn't think establishing frontcourt possession was when you have both feet in and the ball. Thought it was just the ball and either foot lol
Thanks for clarifying. Will have to remember that. Guess it was a good call by the refs.
@SaxyMan92 He did establish possession. He caught it with his left foot on the line with both hands then he dribbled in the frontcourt and then he stepped on the line again after he dribbled.
I thought it's when the ball is in the frontcourt already is when you can't go back to backcourt in the NBA. Whereas in International games the person (not the ball) can't step back into backcourt even if the ball is not in frontcourt yet.

When he first caught it wasn't a back court, but then he lifted a rear foot and then back on the line.

Hmm I thought it should've been an over-and-back but that's because he caught the ball on the line and he stepped on it again afterwards.
Too bad the whistle was blown on the first step instead of the second step.
I still think it should've been over-and-back though lol
