Americans who think they are Irish make me laugh

If you want to call it plastic paddy pish, I won't argue with you. (And I applaud your alliterative artistry.) The experience of Irish-Americanness is really substantially different from Irishness. It's not always my cup o' joe, either, but I learned a long time ago not to laugh. It ain't polite ... or enlightened.
