Specifically Porsche 962C GTi at Silverstone. Also there: Derek Bell, team mate at Richard Lloyd Racing.

  • Prototypes evolved from almost road-legal sportscars in the 1970s. They're still called sportscars and it's "sportscar racing" due historical reasons and to separate them from other racing categories. Even in today's Le Mans Prototypes the heritage is there - regulations say they must have [in theory] space for a passenger seat.

In 1989 the championship was officially called FIA World Sports-Prototype Championship. But it is generally referred as the World Sportscar Championship.

  • Derek Bell is the shit ! 5 star driver!

  • respect tiff

  • @XboxShizzlers cornering speed and braking is not quite as fast as an F1, but nothing else comes closer therefore 1 step under

  • @freedomsoldier187 they're called sportscars because it was road sportscars that raced at le mans first and they aren't really 1 step under formula 1 seeing as they are considerably faster top speed

  • Tiff >> Clarkson

  • @freedomsoldier187 lol at the lowerstep being faster at times.

  • they called this "world sports car championship" lol hardly sports cars, these are like prototype leman's equiverlants. 1 step under F1

  • Now that is some driving

  • WOW, that slalom was fanatastic!!

5 stars, please more Group C, GTP, IMSA videos!!!!!!!!!
