  • @2803Kathy If your religion gives you peace, I don't begrudge you that, but we live in a world that needs us to participate on a human scale and in concrete and substantive ways, like this man has. Imposing your beliefs on others because you think it's what they need is short-sighted and dehumanizing. The golden rule is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The platinum rule is to engage actively with humanity and do unto others as their needs and human dignity require. Peace.

  • This man is the exact definition of altruism... unselfish regard for and devotion to the welfare of others.

    Truly inspiring.

  • @CortErin24 Amen

  • everyone has 5.5 liters of blood. We are all human beings. :)

  • @cricket801: I don't agree, I believe that we must share our ways of life and our beliefs with everyone in a informative way. If we find something that works for us than why not share that with others. Our beliefs might help them find peace within themselves. I mean, as long as you don't use violence or spread a message of hatred, I don't really see the problem with giving of yourself to others in this fashion. It's a kindness in the same way as giving food to others is a kindness.

  • @spraocs huh? I don't think you understood his point, go look up India's Caste system on Wikipedia and you'll know that people from different castes in India are NOT supposed to mingle with each other, the "untouchables" are just that, viewed as people not to even touch, The man's point was that even though he was brought up as a Brahmin, he doesn't believe that people should ignore any marginalized group, therefore he goes and feeds the hungry regardless of what anyone in India thinks of him.

  • @zentopia7 He don't have to comment on some caste or religion while doing so.. why brahmins? there are many people from many other castes who think so even more than Brahmins.. This seems like a conscious attack on certain comunity..

  • @zentopia7 Can't agree to it in totality. You set some goals to become something and work towards it. Becoming a hero and be awarded by CNN is no different in that respect. You see the title there - and the publicity you get from there - "real life CNN Hero"... There are definitely some people out there who set that as a goal and work towards that.. How honest the intentions are.. no one knows..
