This video was created for the Marine Corps' Project Metropolis, to help illustrate the effects of various USMC weapons against the kind of all urban structures one can expect to find on the modern MOUT battlefield.

Equipment:
M-16 - M16 is the U.S. military designation for a family of rifles derived from the ArmaLite AR-15 and further developed by Colt. It is an assault rifle which fires NATO standard 5.56 mm ammunition. It has been the primary infantry rifle of the United States military since 1967, is in use by 15 NATO countries, and has been the most produced firearm in its caliber.

M249 SAW - The M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (M249 SAW) is the United States military designation for a sub-family of the Minimi squad automatic weapon, or Mini-mitrailleuse, for "mini-machine gun". Both are 5.56 x 45 mm NATO light machine guns manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) and its subsidiaries.

AK-47 - The AK-47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947) is a gas-operated assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, produced by Russian manufacturer IZH and used in many Eastern bloc nations during the Cold War. It was adopted and standardized in 1947. Compared with the autoloading rifles used in World War II, the AK-47 was generally lighter, more compact, with a shorter range, a smaller 7.62 × 39 mm cartridge, and was capable of selective fire. It was one of the first true assault rifles and remains the most widely used. The AK-47 and its numerous variants and descendants have been produced in greater numbers than any other assault rifle and are in production to this day.

M203 - M203 generally refers to the United States Army designation for a single shot 40 mm grenade launcher that attaches to the M16 assault rifle or the M4 Carbine. Stand-alone variants exist as do versions capable of being used on many other rifles. The device attaches under the barrel and forward of the magazine, the trigger for it being just forward of the magazine. The magazine functions as a handle of sorts when firing for the M203. A separate sighting system is added to rifles with the M203 as the rifle's regular sights are not matched to the launcher. The M203 can fire high-explosive, smoke, illuminating, buckshot direct fire, CS gas, and training grenades.

  • Guys, I really don't give a fuck what you have to stay, quit responding....

  • wheres the shot gun?? :(

  • @MisantrophSK 'cause they're ineffective against humans, though games and movies shows it differently, shotguns doesn't have that much power, great example is columbine, they shot people with a shotgun right in their face with about half foot of distance and they still were alive....

  • @Soap1O wow, didnt know that. i mean the bullets loos so much of power at distance?

and i guess from half foot of distance is a bit too low to make "no damage" cuz i saw shotgun suicide and that looked a bit awful...

  • @MisantrophSK Shotguns are mostly for killing brids not for humans. And at columbine that people were still alive after a direct hit from half foot of distance. In fact even the most who got shot by a shotgun were alive.

  • @Soap1O then why do policemen use them?

  • @sgtschmitty8013 'cause they don#t wanna kill, sure it can happen that the person gets killed but he might survive

  • 4 people are taliban, obviously

  • everyone knows it woulld go though the plywood even without test

  • @Soap1O dude wtf.

    u serious lol

    shoygun no stoping power?

  • @Soap1O Really man? The shot gun is KING when you are in a close combat situation! If you hit an enemy with buck shot the enemy will be ineffective and easily killed. The reason we use M4's is because they have a small barrel and are good for distance for when you clear the house and move on. At close quarters a 5.56 will go right threw an enemy and not do much damage they are much more effective at long distance. Shotgun=king of close quarters combat period.

  • @MisantrophSK I think Soap is talking about body-shot or distal shots from the head...of course if someone shoots their head with a 12-gauge or a 20-gauge, it's going to blow a hole and they're going to be dead. No doubt about that.

  • @Soap1O saying a shotgun is ineffective against humans is like saying a bb gun will take kill a bear, shotguns use shells as ammunition varying in size of the round inside those shell general 8 shot is used for birds where as 00 buck shot which is used for taking down larger animals, like a human
